Welcome to TOK 2015: This has been the most remarkable course I have ever been allowed to teach. I hope you find it as fascinating as I do. The truly wonderful ingredient is you. The class thrives on the ideas of the students. Some of those ideas will be brought up here. To do this I need to make sure everyone is invited. If you go to my TOK page on my Hellgate website you will find a link to a form that will give me your address. When you have signed up I will send you invitations to join this blog. Please post something so I know you have successfully navigated this technical issue. I am not much for "ice breakers", but it's kind of silly to post nothing and I am always on the hunt for good books, movies, or music, so if you feel like it, will you let me know of ones you think are worth the time?

ReplyDeleteRin Tin Tiger is an excellent young folk band in the bay area, if you like Bob Dylan, you'll like them. As far as books go, I make a habit of always recommending "The World According to Garp" by John Irving.
ReplyDeleteAn interesting movie I saw recently was Sofia Coppola's "Somewhere" (2010). It follows the life of an actor as he reconnects with his eleven-year old daughter. The film itself was very light on dialogue and relied on spaces, colors, and shapes to display the protagonist's emotions, a trademark of Coppola's films.
